Calling all seasoned adventurers! Embark on a legendary challenge in the Garhwal Himalayas – the Panpatia Col Trek. This trek follows an ancient pilgrimage route, now offering the most direct path between Badrinath and Madhyamaheshwar. Prepare for an advanced Himalayan trek renowned for its difficulty, but rewarding you with unparalleled beauty.
The Panpatia Col trek unfolds through a wild and icy wonderland of untouched Himalayan terrain. Traverse remote landscapes, conquer the Panpatia Col (a watershed dividing the Alaknanda and Mandakini river systems), and witness breathtaking vistas of iconic peaks like Neelkanth, Dhauliganga, and Balakun.
The Panpatia Col Trek is not merely a scenic stroll; it’s a demanding expedition-style trek that demands both physical and mental strength. Be prepared to navigate a diverse and challenging terrain, including loose scree slopes, snowfields, tranquil meadows, and the awe-inspiring expanse of the Panpatia Glacier itself. This trek requires advanced skills in glacier travel and ice walking, and you may even encounter river crossings that will test your courage and resourcefulness. Camps set high above 4,500 meters amidst deep snow necessitate an ability to thrive in cold and wet conditions
Difficulty: Extreme.
It is one of the toughest and most challenging treks in India. This trek is NOT for first-timers. Experience of at least two treks over 5000 m is MANDATORY. Previous experience of walking over ice is a MUST. The trekker needs to be prepared to walk on various terrains such as scree, snow and grass. Walking on ice fields, Glacial travel, and river crossing will pose challenges in this trek. This trek consists of several camps over 4,500 m, amidst thick snows. The trekker needs to be prepared to deal with very cold and wet conditions.
Please note: On the last day, you should reach Haridwar/Dehradun by 6-7 p.m. Make any plans for onward journeys accordingly
Reserve day: If the buffer day is used, you have to pay us 3000 INR per day. The money will be collected by the Trek Leader only if we use the buffer day. This depends completely on the weather conditions on the trek and the call will be taken by the trek leader.
