Also known as ‘Tari Khango Pass’, Bhaba Pass(4,865m) connects the Kinnaur valley to Spiti valley in Himachal. More specifically, it is a connection between Bhaba Valley in the north-east of Kinnaur and Pin Valley in the south-west of Spiti. Thus, this pass got it’s name. Locals have used this pass for decades to cross over to Pin Valley without taking the long route through Kaza. The Indo-New Zealand Himalayan traverse expedition also crossed this pass in 1981. The ascent from the Kinnaur side is gradual to start with, only to become steeper and rocky near the foot of the Pass. The descent in Pin Valley is straightforward.
